A Tribute to d’Annunzio in the Blue — Vittoriale, June 21, 2026

Sunday, June 21, 2026, starting at 6:00 p.m., the Vittoriale degli Italiani celebrates the arrival of summer with “Omaggio a d’Annunzio nell’azzurro,” a special evening dedicated to culture, music, and solidarity, in tribute to the Italian Air Force and the deep connection between Gabriele d’Annunzio and the world of aviation.

Admission to the Vittoriale Park will be free all afternoon.

The Vate’s New Hologram: AvaDa 2.0

Casa Cama will host the unveiling of AvaDa 2.0, the fully updated version of the interactive hologram of Gabriele d’Annunzio. A newly refined image and a more sophisticated artificial intelligence, capable of conversing more naturally and adapting its language and tone to its interlocutors, restoring the authentic voice of the Vate—no longer flattened by the neutral patterns typical of artificial intelligence.

“What we had was, like almost all artificial intelligence, politically correct—in other words, as far from D’Annunzio as one could possibly imagine.”

— Giordano Bruno Guerri, President of the Vittoriale

The evening’s presentations

  • The Giovanni Rizzo Correspondence — 80 letters from d’Annunzio, most of them previously unpublished, addressed to the Chief of Police (later Prefect) appointed by Mussolini to keep the Poet under surveillance. A documentary acquisition of great significance.
  • The Saint and the Poet: Myth and Ritual of Francis in Gabriele d’Annunzio by Angelo Piero Cappello (Ianieri Edizioni)
  • I, Marcello Dudovich: My Life Between Dream and Reality, edited by Maria Grazia Bella, a documentary filmmaker at the Historical Office of the Italian Air Force.

Fanfare of the 1st Air Region — Italian Air Force

At 8:15 p.m., the Vittoriale Amphitheater will host a free concert by the Fanfare of the Italian Air Force’s 1st Air Region, conducted by Chief Master Sergeant Massimiliano Picca.

Founded in 1984, the Fanfara is composed exclusively of full-time military musicians from Italy’s leading conservatories. In 2017, it was awardedthe Ambrogino d’Oro by the City of Milan for its social and charitable work.

The evening will be hosted by Sonia Bedeschi, editor-in-chief of Identity Style, in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Gen. Antonio Conserva. The donations collected will support the Italian Air Force’s charity project, Un Dono dal Cielo, which benefits pediatric facilities in Bari, Rome, and Milan.

A symbolic date

June 21 marks both the Summer Solstice and World Music Day —the perfect opportunity to celebrate the universal power of art as a vehicle for culture, solidarity, and peaceful coexistence.
