Garda
Garda is the medieval village that gave its name to Italy’s largest lake. Nestled in a sheltered gulf on the Veronese shore, it retains an authentic soul made up of narrow alleys, frescoed palaces and a lakefront that is among the most beautiful in eastern Garda.
The historic center is dominated by the Palazzo dei Capitani, former headquarters of the Gardesana dell’Acqua, and the Palazzo Carlotti with its Renaissance loggia. The walk to Punta San Vigilio, with its romantic bay and famous Locanda, is one of the most picturesque on the lake.
Above the village towers the Rocca, reached by a scenic path that provides breathtaking views of the lake and Mount Baldo. Garda is the ideal starting point for exploring the Veronese shore, among centuries-old olive trees, vineyards and equipped beaches.
