Tocatì – Festival Internazionale dei Giochi di Strada
17 September — 20 September
A Unique Global Event
The Tocatì – International Street Games Festival is a unique event in the world that transforms Verona into a large open-air playground. For three days, the squares and streets of the historic center host traditional games from all over the world, rediscovering the value of games as intangible cultural heritage.
Games Throughout the City
Piazza dei Signori, Piazza Erbe, the Lungadige and dozens of other city spaces become game arenas where traditional Italian and international sports and games are practiced: lippa, tamburello, pallapugno, morra, marbles, tug of war and traditional games from host countries from every continent.
Interactive Participation
The festival is interactive: everyone can participate, try the games, learn the rules and challenge players from all over the world. For children it is a paradise of outdoor activities, away from screens. For adults it is a journey into memory and the discovery of unknown gaming cultures.
Program and Practical Information
The program includes exhibitions, conferences on games as UNESCO heritage, street performances and a market of gaming crafts. Admission is completely free. Verona is 30 minutes from Lake Garda: the Tocatì is the perfect cultural outing for families vacationing at the lake.
