Mercatini di Natale di Verona
21 November — 28 December
FreeThe Christmas Markets of Verona
The Christmas Markets of Verona are among the most charming in Northern Italy. Every year, from late November until Christmas Eve, Piazza dei Signori transforms into a Christmas village with dozens of decorated wooden cottages, sparkling lights and the unmistakable aroma of mulled wine and cinnamon. The cottages offer quality Christmas crafts: hand-blown glass decorations, carved wood, hand-painted ceramics, scented candles, fabrics and artisanal jewelry. There is no shortage of gastronomic specialties: hot strudel, Veronese Christmas sweets such as pandoro and nadalin, cheeses, honey and cured meats from the region.
The Christmas Program in Verona
Verona’s Christmas program extends beyond the markets: the large illuminated comet star on the Arena in Piazza Bra, the ice skating rink, concerts of Christmas choirs in historic churches, shows for children and the living nativity scene in the courtyards of medieval palaces. Verona at Christmas is a magical city, with its illuminated squares, decorated alleyways and the romantic atmosphere of the city of Romeo and Juliet. Reachable from Lake Garda in 30 minutes, the markets are the perfect trip for a winter afternoon. Free admission.
2026 dates to be confirmed: those shown follow the 2025 edition (21 November – 28 December); the Comune di Verona has not yet published the programme. 2025 hours: Sunday to Thursday 10 am–9:30 pm, Friday and Saturday 10 am–11 pm. Check comune.verona.it.
