Two Thousand Years of History in a Single City

Verona’s Historic Center has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000, recognized for its extraordinary urban continuity spanning over two thousand years of history — from the Roman era through the Middle Ages, from the Renaissance to the modern age — all preserved in a perfectly maintained urban fabric that remains vibrant and fully alive today.

Must-See Monuments

The Arena of Verona, a first-century Roman amphitheater with a capacity of 25,000 spectators, is the third largest in Italy and hosts the famous Lyric Festival every summer. Piazza delle Erbe, the ancient Roman Forum, is the beating heart of the city with its daily market. Juliet’s House with its famous balcony, the Roman Theater overlooking the Adige River, Castelvecchio with its crenellated bridge, and the Romanesque churches of San Zeno and Sant’Anastasia complete a world-class artistic heritage.

From Lake Garda

Verona is just 30 km from Lake Garda (25 minutes from Peschiera). It is also accessible by train (Peschiera del Garda station on the Milan-Venice line) or by boat and bus. A day trip to Verona is the perfect cultural excursion for those staying at the lake.
