Grandparents’ Day 2026 at Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium

For Grandparents’ Day (2 October) and World Animal Day, on Sunday 4 October 2026 Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium hosts a day for grandparents and grandchildren, devoted to the longest-living aquatic animals. The aquarium is part of the Gardaland resort in Castelnuovo del Garda.

Programme

• 11:00, Vista Oceanica: “Nonno in ammollo: vecchie pinne, grandi storie”, an interactive quiz for all ages on century-old turtles, record-breaking fish and deep-sea dwellers. The aquarium’s residents include Blue Coral, which can live for decades or centuries, and the common carp, which reaches 50–80 years.
• 12:30 to 16:30, Cove del Capitano: “Un mare d’amore per i nonni”, a craft workshop where children use recycled materials to make a small sea creature to give their grandparents, with a personal message.

At the end every participant receives a Marine Explorer certificate, with a QR code on the SEA LIFE Trust’s conservation projects.

The aquarium

The route leads from Lake Garda to the ocean depths: 13 themed zones, 40 tanks and over 5,000 creatures of 100 species, with the transparent ocean tunnel among sharks and rays, the “Interactive Ocean” room and the talks with the sea lions Leo, Honey and Davy Jones.
