Arena di Verona Opera Festival 2026 – 103ª Edizione
12 June — 12 September
The World’s Most Prestigious Open-Air Opera Festival
The Arena di Verona Opera Festival, now in its 103rd edition, is the world’s most prestigious open-air opera festival. Every summer, Verona’s Roman amphitheater hosts the greatest works of Italian and international opera repertoire, with monumental scenic designs and stellar casts.
The 2026 Program
The 2026 program features the most beloved melodrama titles: Aida with its iconic pyramid scenography, Carmen, La Traviata, Nabucco, and Tosca, plus special evenings with symphonic concerts and opera galas. The Arena, built in the 1st century A.D., can accommodate over 15,000 spectators in a unique atmosphere found nowhere else in the world.
A Magical Experience
The experience begins at sunset, when the audience lights thousands of small candles that illuminate the amphitheater’s steps. The magic of opera under the stars, with the perfect acoustics of living stone, is an emotion without equal. Seating ranges from the golden orchestra to stone bleachers, with prices accessible to everyone.
Practical Information
Verona is just 30 minutes from Lake Garda. Many spectators combine a day at the lake with an evening at the Arena. Early booking is recommended, especially for opening nights and weekends. Dress code is elegant but not mandatory; a cushion is recommended for the bleachers.
