Torri del Benaco

Veneto
Lago di Garda

Torri del Benaco is a hidden gem on the Veronese shore, a village where the Scaliger Castle guards one of the last working lemon houses on the lake. Inside the castle walls, lemons still grow as they did centuries ago, protected by the original greenhouses.

The small harbor is one of the most picturesque on Lake Garda: colorful boats, fishing nets, and restaurants where you can enjoy freshly caught whitefish and pikeperch. The church of Saints Peter and Paul preserves 14th-century frescoes of rare beauty.

The ferry to Toscolano-Maderno, the historic link between the two shores of the lake, departs from Torri. The village is also the base for excursions to Mount Baldo and the inland hills, among olive groves and vineyards that produce Garda DOP olive oil.
