Architectural Masterpiece
The Basilica of Sant’Andrea, designed by Leon Battista Alberti in 1472, is one of the masterpieces of Renaissance architecture. The monumental façade, inspired by the Roman triumphal arch, introduces a grand interior with a single nave covered by a barrel vault.

The basilica preserves the relic of the Most Precious Blood of Christ, brought to Mantua according to tradition by the centurion Longinus, and a chapel containing the tomb of Andrea Mantegna.
