Valeggio sul Mincio

Veneto
Lago di Garda

Valeggio sul Mincio lies along the Mincio River, a few kilometers from Lake Garda, in the province of Verona. Its jewel is Borghetto, one of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages, a village of watermills that looks like something out of a fairy tale. The town is famous throughout Italy for tortellini “love knots” and for the Sigurtà Garden Park, considered among the most beautiful in Europe.

Why visit Valeggio sul Mincio

Valeggio is a destination that combines history, nature, and gastronomy in a unique way. The medieval village of Borghetto with its mills on the Mincio River is a magical place, the imposing 650-meter-long Visconti Bridge leaves you breathless, and local restaurants serve the best tortellini in the region. Sigurtà Park with its 60 hectares of gardens is a must-see, especially during the spring tulip bloom.

How to Get There

Valeggio sul Mincio can be reached from the Peschiera del Garda highway exit on the A4, continuing about 10 km south. From Verona it takes about 25 minutes to drive along SR62. The village is well connected by regular buses to Peschiera del Garda and Villafranca. Verona Villafranca airport is only 15 km away.

Itineraries from Valeggio

Valeggio is a stop on the Ciclopista del Mincio, the bicycle path that connects Peschiera to Mantua. The village of Borghetto with its mills is a jewel not to be missed.
