Christmas Markets of Malcesine 2026: the village dresses up for the holidays

The Christmas Markets of Malcesine bring the village’s historic centre to life every year, beneath the Castello Scaligero, with wooden stalls selling local crafts, products from Monte Baldo and the Garda area, decorations and gift ideas. It’s a chance to stroll through the old lanes lit up for Christmas with the lake as a backdrop, suited to families and anyone looking for a winter atmosphere on the lake.

In the 2025-2026 edition, used here as a reference for the event’s usual format, the markets ran on the weekends of 6-7-8 and 13-14 December, then daily from 20 December to 6 January, 10am to 7pm. The 2026 dates are not yet official at the time of writing: check the Comune di Malcesine website and visitmalcesine.com.

Alongside the markets, the Castello Scaligero often hosts Christmas-themed activities for children, though this programme also needs confirming year by year.
