Hill between Riva and Torbole with Austro-Hungarian forts and rare flora.

Monte Brione is a 376-metre hill that separates Riva del Garda and Torbole on the lake’s northern shore. A true natural oasis of the Nago-Torbole area, it delivers extraordinary landscapes and an intimate encounter with the Garda environment.

History and architecture

The summit is crowned with the remains of an Austro-Hungarian fortress, a tangible reminder of the region’s rich and layered history.

What to see

Well-kept trails cross an area of exceptional botanical interest, where rare Mediterranean species thrive in this sub-Mediterranean microclimate. From the ridge, panoramic views open across both sides of the lake.

Tips for visitors

Wear sturdy boots and bring enough water. The best season runs from April to October. Respect this protected environment by staying on marked trails and not damaging the flora.
