Stand Up Paddle (SUP) has become one of the most popular sports on Lake Garda. Crystal clear water, spectacular scenery and ideal conditions make Garda perfect for paddling.

The best spots for doing SUP

  • Siren Bay – Garda: calm, clear water, ideal for beginners. Board rental on site.
  • Manerba del Garda – Rocca: paddle along the coast to San Biagio Island (reachable on foot or SUP). Turquoise water.
  • Punta San Vigilio – Garda: one of the most beautiful stretches of the lake. Departure from the beach below.
  • Limone sul Garda: The coastal stretch between Limone and Tremosine offers spectacular views of the cliffs.
  • Torbole: for experts. Early in the morning, before the wind picks up (Ora del Garda), the water is a mirror.
  • Lazise: departure from the lakefront with easy route to the beaches to the north.

Where to rent

Virtually every location on the lake has at least one SUP rental point. Average prices:

  • 1 hour: 15-20€
  • Half day: 30-40€
  • Full day: 45-60€
  • Lesson for beginners: 40-50€ (1.5 hours with instructor)

Safety tips

  • Always check the wind report before going out
  • Morning (7-10) is the best time: flat water and few people
  • Wear leash (ankle lace) – it is mandatory
  • Bring water, sunscreen and hat
  • Stay close to the coast if you are a beginner
  • Watch out for Peler (northerly wind) rising after 11-12 a.m.
