The Brenzone – Malcesine cycle path is a scenic 20 km route along the Veronese shore of Lake Garda, completely flat and overlooking the lake. Perfect for families, prams and cyclists of all levels, it passes through fishing villages, olive groves and beaches with Monte Baldo as a constant backdrop.

The route
Start in Brenzone and cycle north along the eastern shore of the lake. The route alternates between stretches of dedicated cycle path and secondary roads with low traffic, always with the lake on the left and Monte Baldo on the right. The hamlets of Brenzone – Castelletto, Magugnano, Porto, Assenza – are little lakeside jewels that are well worth a stop.
The arrival in Malcesine is scenic: the Scaliger Castle plunging into the lake, the colourful harbour and the medieval village with its narrow streets create an unforgettable picture. The cable car to Monte Baldo departs from Malcesine.

Recommended stops
Brenzone’s beaches are among the least crowded on the lake – perfect for a dip. The port of Cassone, considered the smallest port in the world, is a curiosity not to be missed. In Malcesine, the Scaligero Castle is worth a visit, with its museum dedicated to Goethe, who was arrested here as a spy.

Practical advice
Flat route suitable for everyone, even with buggies. E-bikes available for hire. The Navigarda boat connects Malcesine to Brenzone for the return trip without cycling. Practicable all year round. Spring and autumn days offer perfect light for photographs. Parking facilities in Brenzone and Malcesine.
