The Busatte-Tempesta Path is one of the most spectacular routes around Lake Garda. It runs along the north-eastern shore, between the hamlet of Busatte in Torbole and the small village of Tempesta, on the border between Trentino and Veneto, offering views of the lake that take your breath away at every bend of the trail.
The most famous section of the trail is the staircase: about 400 steps divided into three sections that are used to overcome the steepest points of the ridge. Along the way there are steel ladders anchored in the rock and sheer passages over the water, which make the experience exciting without being technically demanding. The trail is classified as medium-easy, suitable for anyone who is in good physical shape and does not suffer from vertigo.

The vegetation that accompanies the walk is typically Mediterranean: holm oaks, olive trees and fragrant scrub alternate with pale rock faces, against the backdrop of the deep blue of Lake Garda. On a clear day, the view sweeps as far as the Baldo mountains and the shores of Brescia.
The complete circular route, starting and finishing in Torbole, measures approximately 10.4 km and takes just over three hours at a leisurely pace. Those who prefer not to retrace the route in reverse can descend from Tempesta along the forest road and return by bus to Torbole.

From the Busatte parking area (above Torbole) take the scenic trail that descends towards Tempesta. The route is equipped with over 400 metal stairs anchored to the rocky wall, with suspended walkways and panoramic viewpoints.
You descend continuously with views of the lake below until you reach the Tempesta locality, on the Garda state road. The return can be made by the same route (uphill) or by bus to Torbole.
How to get there
By car: from Rovereto follow signs for Torbole sul Garda, then head up towards the Busatte locality following the directions. From Riva del Garda approximately 10 minutes. By public transport: bus to Torbole, then walk uphill to Busatte (approximately 20 minutes).
