The Ciclovia del Sole (Sun Cycle Route) from Rivoli Veronese to Verona is a 20-km cycle link from Lake Garda to the city of Romeo and Juliet. Completely flat and separated from traffic, it is perfect for families and those who want to combine sport, culture and food and wine in one day.

The Route
It starts in Rivoli Veronese, a historic town on the hill overlooking the Adige Valley, and descends to the plain following the course of the Adige River. The cycle path runs along the banks of the river, immersed in a countryside landscape with orchards, cultivated fields and floodplain woods that are home to herons and other water birds.
The route passes through small villages in the Veronese countryside before reaching the gates of Verona, where the cycle path enters the city following the river to the historic centre.

Verona
The arrival in Verona is exciting: the Scaliger city welcomes with the Roman Arena, Piazza delle Erbe, Castelvecchio and Juliet’s balcony. It deserves at least half a day’s visit. The return to Rivoli (and thus to Garda) is possible by train with the bike.

Practical advice
Completely flat route on dedicated cycle path. Suitable for families with children. Rental bikes available. E-bike not necessary. Can be connected to the Ciclopista del Mincio and the Garda cycle path to create longer routes. Practicable all year round. Fountains and refreshment points along the route.
