The Alto Garda Horizon Trail is the grand tour of the Alto Garda Bresciano Park, an epic two-wheeled adventure designed for experienced bikers and eMTB enthusiasts who want to discover the area in its entirety and depth.
The loop starts in Pregasina, at St. George’s Church, and runs for more than 74 kilometers through an ever-changing landscape: alpine pine forests, high-altitude meadows, nearly forgotten rural hamlets and slopes carved out by history. The route is undertaken in two stages, with an intermediate overnight stay at altitude.
Alpine passes are the common thread of the trail: Passo Tombea at 1,822 meters, Passo Tremalzo at 1,664 meters and Bocca Campei at 1,860 meters follow one another offering ever-changing scenery, with views that at the best moments embrace the entire Garda Basin and the peaks of the Alps. Belvedere di Pregasina and Bocca Larici are the most photogenic points of the itinerary.
There is no shortage of historical evidence: calchere (ancient lime kilns), military trails from World War I, and the thatched roofs of traditional Cima Rest houses restore a tangible sense of the time that has passed in these mountains.
With 3,383 meters of positive elevation gain and S2 difficulty, the trail is suitable for trained bikers and eMTB owners who want to have a complete and unforgettable experience in the heart of the park.
