The Passo Tremalzo Tour is one of the most iconic MTB routes in the Alto Garda Bresciano Park, a challenging loop that starts from the plateau of Tremosine and goes all the way to one of the most picturesque places in the Garda hinterland.
The route starts from Polzone, near Alpe del Garda, and climbs gradually through forests and open slopes toward the Tremalzo Pass, at 1,664 meters above sea level. The climb alternates between well-maintained dirt roads and stretches on old military roads dating back to the Great War, giving an authentic and historic flavor to the ascent.
Upon reaching the pass, the panorama opens to 360 degrees over the Gardesan Alps, with views as far as the lake on clear days. From here the trail continues to Forno Nero and Monte Traversole, crossing high-altitude landscapes that in summer are tinged with deep green and in autumn light up with the colors of the forest.
The return trip is through the hamlets of Vesio, Villa and Voiandes, rural towns that preserve the traditional architecture of the Tremosine plateau, before closing the loop at Polzone. With nearly 1,600 meters of positive elevation gain and a maximum elevation of 1,840 meters, this loop requires good physical and technical preparation, but it pays off with beautiful scenery.
Suitable for experienced mountain bikers or well-equipped e-bikers. Download GPX before departure and check road conditions at high altitude, especially in spring.
