Alto Garda Bresciano Park – guide and itineraries

The Alto Garda Bresciano Regional Park, established in 1989, protects more than 38,000 hectares of land on the Lombard shore of Lake Garda: from the lake shores of Salò to the peaks of Tremalzo, crossing nine municipalities and unique landscapes-from historic lemon groves to thousand-year-old olive groves, from high-altitude beech forests to Venetian-era trails.

We have selected and brought to Instagarda 25 official itineraries of the Park: each tab contains technical data, detailed description, GPS track viewable on the map and link to the original page of Visit Parco Alto Garda Bresciano. All content is curated by theAlto Garda Bresciano Park Authority, reported here with their permission.

Park municipalities

The Park encompasses nine Garda municipalities, each with its own character:

  • Salo – historical capital of the Magnifica Patria
  • Gardone Riviera – the “pearl of the Garda” of the Belle Époque
  • Toscolano-Maderno – the Valley of the Paper Mills
  • Gargnano – villages and lemon houses of the Upper Garda region
  • Tignale – Sanctuary of Montecastello overlooking the lake
  • Tremosine sul Garda – scenic plateau, “village of villages”
  • Limone sul Garda – historic lemon houses and bicycle path
  • Magasa and Valvestino – the innermost municipalities, the realm of malga and Tombea cheese

Plan your visit

The park can be visited year-round: spring and autumn are the most attractive seasons for trekking, while summer is ideal for seeking high altitudes and refreshment in the Tremalzo beech forests. In winter, some high altitude trails may be snow-covered or closed.
